Optics Series

This series of work incorporates the use of a lasercutter to create detailed linoleum blocks. It’s a continuation of designing an entirely visual experience for the viewer that began with my previous Optics Study. I am citing artists like Bridget Riley and Victor Vasarely for their foundational work in the Op Art movement of the 1960’s. Each piece is a linocut print exploring themes of human perception, illusion, and reality.

Working with relief printing I have combined this very old process while incorporating new methods of developing those prints. Exploring what can be done with line and shape when arranged and layered in specific ways remains important to my work.
